Man arrested on suspicion of kidnapping victim at gunpoint in Highlands Ranch

A man has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a person at gunpoint on Friday evening in Highlands Ranch, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

Thomas Pratt, 42, was arrested Sunday for charges of first-degree kidnapping, felony menacing, first-degree criminal trespass and parole violation, officials said.

The kidnapping occurred just before 7 p.m. on Friday night. The victim was threatened with a gun and forced to drive from the 9200 block of South Broadway in Highlands Ranch to East Chenango Avenue and South Broadway in Englewood, according to a Friday X post. The victim was not harmed.

“Make no mistake about it: if you prey on Douglas County residents, we will find you and hold you accountable,” Douglas County Sheriff Darren Weekly said.
