A 38-year-old man was attacked after he tried to stop a robbery in the Loop Saturday night, Chicago police said.
The man attempted to prevent the theft around 8 p.m. in the 100 block of South State Street. His face swelled, and he suffered a cut on the back of his neck. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in stable condition, according to police.
The alleged thief, a 22-year-old man, was taken into custody.
