A 30-year-old man was apparently beaten to death late Monday night in Austin on the West Side.
Around 11:15 p.m., officers responding to a battery call found the man with a wound to his neck being treated by paramedics in the 500 block of North Central Avenue, Chicago police said.
The unidentified man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. An autopsy is scheduled, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
No one was in custody.
Area 4 detectives are investigating.
