Man dresses up as Charlie Kirk and ‘reenacts death’ at event hosted by his widow

Attendees at a leadership event for Charlie Kirk’s organisation were astounded to see a man dressed up as the commentator on the day he died.

The man appeared at the Turning Point USA conference in San Antonio, Texas, dressed as the controversial podcaster – complete with a papier mache head and a white T-shirt reading ‘FREEDOM’.

The interloper then re-enacted Kirk’s final moments and death, dramatically tumbling to the floor before joining other protesters who told conference attendees: ‘You are protecting paedophiles, you are protecting Nazis.’

Erika Kirk, Mr Kirk’s widow, led the summit on Friday and was heckled by a crowd member who screamed that she, too, protected paedophiles.

Erika appeared to smirk before telling the crowd: ‘It’s important to remember that happiness comes and goes — and I pray that you find it.’

Kirk, a right-wing activist, father of two, and close ally of Donald Trump, was an infamous commentator who was vocal on issues such as opposing trans rights and gun control and advocating for religion.

Turning Point USA (TPUSA) was co-founded by Mr Kirk in 2012 and claims to be the ‘largest Conservative student movement’ in the country and boasts thousands of members across universities and high schools in the United States.

Mr Kirk spoke passionately about conservative values on college campuses. He wrote five books and launched a podcast and YouTube channel that has amassed 3.8 million subscribers.

TPUSA has also expressed anti-transgender, pro-gun views and touted conspiracy theories about the 2020 election.

Kirk’s widow, Erika, was announced as the new CEO of Turning Point USA just a week after his death.
