Man fatally shot in Brighton Park

An argument apparently sparked a shooting that left a 33-year-old man dead early Monday on the Southwest Side.

The victim, 33, was arguing with someone in the 3900 block of South Archer Avenue around 3 a.m. when the person he was arguing with shot him twice in the chest, Chicago police said.

The 33-year-old was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

A weapon was recovered at the scene, officials said.

No one was in custody.

Area 1 detectives are investigating.
