A man died after being shot Friday night in Riverdale on the Far South Side.
The 41 year old was in the 13000 block of South Ellis Avenue about 10 p.m. when someone approached him and fired shots, striking him in the chest, Chicago police said.
The man was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said. His name hasn’t been released.
The gunman fled westbound from the scene, according to police.
Detectives are investigating.
