Detectives are investigating the fatal stabbing of a 47-year-old man Monday morning in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood.
His death occurred during the long Memorial Day holiday weekend, in which 38 people were wounded in shootings and two people died after being shot, including a toddler.
The still-unidentified 47-year-old man was attacked and found unresponsive inside an apartment in the 400 block of East 73rd Street, police said.
The man, who was pronounced dead on the scene, died of multiple sharp force injuries and his death was ruled a homicide, according to a Tuesday autopsy performed by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Area 1 detectives are investigating.
