Detectives are conducting a homicide investigation after a man was found shot to death Wednesday inside an Austin home.
Officers found the 31-year-old about 6:40 p.m. in the basement of an apartment building in the 4900 block of West Cortez Street, Chicago police said.
He suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
A firearm was recovered at the scene, police said.
No arrests were reported.
