Manhunt after stranger pushes man onto train tracks at Liverpool Lime Street station

A man was shoved onto live railway tracks in front of commuters at Liverpool Lime Street station.
Detectives have launched an investigation after a passenger was pushed onto the live railway tracks at Liverpool’s main station yesterday afternoon.
The victim was walking along with two friends on the underground platform of the Wirral line just after 5pm when he was attacked.
An unknown man pushed him onto the track and fled the scene.
Other commuters rushed to help him, and he was pulled back to safety by the time police officers arrived.

The British Transport Police said: ‘The victim has been taken to hospital and thankfully at this time there is no information to suggest any serious injury.
‘Officers are carrying out CCTV and witness enquiries and are working to identify and locate a man they want to speak to in connection to the incident. This man left the station before officers arrived on scene.’
The force has released an image of a man dressed in a black cap and matching hoodie, who they believe may have information which could help with the probe.

Last year, Donovan Kenlyn, 39, was locked up indefinitely after attacking three men on the London Underground network on October 27, 2022, including pushing one victim onto the tracks at Finchley Road station.
Kenlyn, who has schizophrenia, was found to have been insane when the attacks unfolded, and he was handed a hospital order without a time limit.
Judge Philip Katz KC said he presents a ‘very high danger to the public.’
