MILWAUKEE — Miguel Rojas’ back injury is not enough to make him miss the National League Championship Series.
Rojas was included on the roster submitted Sunday morning before Game 1 of the NLCS. The Dodgers also dropped Hyeseong Kim from the roster and added a 13th pitcher in left-hander Justin Wrobleski.
Rojas injured his back during Game 3 of the NL Division Series against the Atlanta Braves and missed Game 4. But he received a cortisone injection and participated in the Dodgers’ workouts on Friday and Saturday.
With the longer, best-of-seven NLCS, the Dodgers opted to carry 13 pitchers after going with 12 for the best-of-five NLDS. Wrobleski was the choice as the extra pitcher after being left off the roster for the NLDS. Wrobleski spent most of the season in the Dodgers’ starting rotation, earning an All-Star selection. He spent time on the Injured List in August with a forearm injury and returned to pitch out of the bullpen in September, finishing the season 12-5 with a 3.66 ERA.
Despite spending most of the season in Triple-A, Kim was on the roster for the NLDS as a potential pinch-runner or defensive replacement. He entered Game 3 after Rojas’ injury.
Rookie Josue De Paula remains on the roster as a pinch-hit option off the bench.
Here is the Dodgers’ NLCS roster:
