Missing Brit, 47, found dead on paradise beach in holiday hotspot Rhodes after vanishing while swimming with niece

A BRIT who went missing in Rhodes has tragically been found dead.

The 47-year-old’s body was found by a beachgoer on the sand, local media reported.

He went missing after swimming with his niece at Theologos beach on Wednesday.

His niece is believed to have left the water before him, leaving him in it alone.

When she noticed he hadn’t returned after some time, she went back to the beach to find him – but couldn’t.

She alerted police who launched a desperate search, enlisting the help of the coast guard and local boat owners.

But his lifeless body was eventually discovered on the beach by someone passing by, according to local media.

The man’s identity has not been revealed.

Days earlier, a 71-year-old old British tourist was pulled unconscious from the sea in Greece.

The woman was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead after being found near the town of Gouvia, Corfu.

An investigation is being carried out by the Central Port Authority of Corfu, while an autopsy has also been ordered, local media iefimerida reported.

A few weeks before that, another Brit, 66, was pulled from the water unconscious at Achladies beach in Skiathos.

Also among disappearances in sun-soaked Greece this summer was Dr Michael Mosley, who was found after a several-day search on the island of Symi.

The body of the high-profile doctor, 67, was eventually found about a 30-minute walk from the village he was last seen.

The holidaymaker, 64, never returned after telling a friend she was setting off on the trek.

Rescue crews are desperately searching alongside a sniffer dog.

On Tuesday night, a Brit was mysteriously found dead in his hotel room in Cyprus.

The 30-year-old holidaymaker, yet to be identified, was found unconscious in Ayia Napa after cops received a call about 9pm on Tuesday night.

He was rushed to Famagusta General Hospital but pronounced dead.

Local police ruled out crime and state pathologist Aggeliki Papetta made no findings in a post-mortem, according to Cyprus Mail.
