A member of the public filmed the robbery from their car after spotting the gang of thieves jump from their vehicle and ransack the van.

Video shows several men dressed in black lifting packages from the back of the van and storing them in their white Ford Fiesta before escaping.

The DPD employee is left to watch on as the robbery takes place, helpless to protect the packages.

The person filming tries to scare the thieves off by honking his horn at them, but they take no notice.

Tyres squeal as the thieves then race off with their stolen goods and the DPD employee is left to close the van.

Video of the robbery was shared to social media yesterday with the caption: “Thieves ransack a DPD driver’s van whilst he was delivering a parcel to a home in Leytonstone, London.”

The video has since received dozens of likes and comments from social media users left shocked by the brazen robbery.

One user wrote: “Parcel delivery is not easy.”

Another added: “Not exactly Heat is it.”

A third replied: “Looks like a set up.”

Another said: “Why not lock the van.”

A fifth commented: “I bet he’d left the van unlocked. He should be held responsible.”

The Sun has contacted DPD and the Met Police for comment.
