Mother makes heartbreaking tribute to daughter, 7, found dead in golf course lake

A heartbroken mother has paid tribute to her daughter after she was found dead in a golf course lake.

Nyla May Bradshaw, 7, was named by family as the girl found lifeless in the Owston Hall Golf Course pond on Monday at 9.50am.

Her mother Hayley said: ‘It breaks my heart to write this, but today we lost our beautiful daughter Nyla May Bradshaw at just 7 years old.

‘She was our whole world full of love, laughter, and the brightest smile that could light up any room. She brought so much joy into our lives and into the lives of everyone who knew her.’

She added: ‘Our sweet little girl will be loved forever and never, ever forgotten.

‘Forever 7 my girl, this isn’t goodbye – it’s an until we meet again. You have family up there who will look after you.

‘You were too special for this earth. Run as free as you want now, my gorgeous girl’.

Police have sealed off the Owston Hall Golf Course water after finding her body.

A police helicopter searching for the missing tot spotted them in the lake.

Despite efforts by emergency services, including the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, the child was pronounced dead at the scene.

Locals report the child wandered off from a group in the Skellow area of Doncaster.

A South Yorkshire police spokesman said: ‘Yesterday, Monday 30 March, officers responded to the death of a child in Doncaster.

‘At 9.50am to a report a child had gone missing in the Skellow area of the city.

‘Officers and additional resources including police drones and the police aircraft were deployed.

‘Following an extensive search, the child was located in a pond on Owston Hall golf course.

‘Sadly, despite the best efforts of emergency services colleagues, they were pronounced deceased.

‘The child’s family has been informed and is being supported by our officers. The thoughts of everybody at SYP are with them at this devastating time.’
