A mother of five was struck and killed by a pickup truck as she crossed the street in Pacoima on Tuesday night, July 7.
The woman was identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as Jessica Flores, 37.
Flores was crossing the street when she was hit by a car around 9:15 p.m. at the 12600 block Branford Street in Pacoima, according to Los Angeles police Officer Charles Miller. Footage from the scene showed a damaged white pickup truck and a driver doing field sobriety tests.
A 43-year-old man was taken into custody, police said. What charges he may be facing were not immediately known.
Flores was a mother of five children, according to Fox11. Her children range from age 22 to 4 months old. She was crossing the street with her boyfriend when she was hit and killed. She had been living in a trailer down the street from the crash for the past few months, according to the TV station.
