Chicago could see freezing rain and more snow this week, and commuters should prepare for slippery roads and poor visibility Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.
After a slight chance of flurries Monday evening, the temperature is expected to go above freezing Tuesday and Wednesday into the high 30s, according to the National Weather Service.
Still, the weather service said there was a chance of freezing rain early Tuesday evening in much of northern Illinois, when cold air and frozen pavement could make driving difficult.
On Wednesday morning, drivers should watch out for possible high winds and snow showers.
The temperature Wednesday evening could dip to 10 degrees. On Thursday and Friday, temperatures are forecast to fall again, to daytime highs in the 20s with chances of snow. Friday night could see wind chills between minus-10 and minus-20 degrees.
