Multiple people have reportedly been shot at an Eid al-Fitr event in Philadelphia marking the end of Ramadan.
The victims were injured on Wednesday afternoon near the 4700 block of Wyalusing Avenue in West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, police sources told FOX 29.
Hundreds of people were in attendance at the Muslim holiday event, wrote FOX 29 reporter Steve Keeley on X (formerly Twitter) at 2.41pm local time.
Police made ‘numerous arrests’ and recovered at least four guns, Keeley reported. At least one cop fired a weapon.
A large police presence in the area near the Philadelphia Masjid was captured by SKYFOX.
It was not immediately known how many people were hurt nor their conditions.
An investigation at the scene is underway.
