A 63-year-old Park County woman died Friday night in a head-on collision on U.S. 285 near Conifer, according to Colorado State Patrol officials.
Around 6 p.m. Friday, a woman driving a Dodge pickup truck southbound on U.S. 285 suddenly crossed into the northbound lanes and crashed into an Xcel service truck, state patrol officials said in a news release.
The woman driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, state patrol officials said. Two kids who were passengers in her truck and the driver of the Xcel truck were all treated for minor injuries.
State patrol officials have not publicly identified the 63-year-old but said she was from Shawnee, in northern Park County. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office will release her name at a later date.
