A person was fatally shot in Garfield Ridge Thursday night on the Southwest Side, according to Chicago police.
The person was found on the ground with gunshot wounds to his body around 11:55 p.m. in the 5100 block of South Luna Avenue, police said in a statement.
He was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. His age and identity were not released.
A weapon was recovered and detectives were speaking to a person of interest.
