An estate nicknamed ‘Harry Potter castle’ in Ukraine has been incinerated in a missile attack this evening.

At least two people and a dog have been killed in the strike on the Black Sea port of Odesa.

Footage shared on social media shows the towers of the famous Kivalov mansion on the waterfront on fire.

Smoke is seen billowing into the sky moments after the hit, which also damaged houses nearby.

Pictures show a woman who was out walking her dog on the seafront in Odesa on the ground.

She is seen hugging the body of the animal, which was later shown wrapped up in a nylon bag.

A few meters away from her, an injured woman is laying in a pool of blood on the asphalt.

Firefighters arrived to the scene of the fire at the estate, but the top half of the building is fully engulfed in the flames.

Only the metal structure of the spires remain standing.

Public broadcaster Suspilne said the roof of the building, which is understood to be operating as a legal academy, had been nearly destroyed.

It said the academy’s president, a prominent former member of parliament, Serhiy Kivalov, was among the injured.

The Ukrainian Air Force had announced a harder-to-intercept ballistic missile threat ahead of the strike.
