Rapper Poorstacy is dead at 26 of suspected suicide: report

Rapping rocker Poorstacy is dead at 26.

TMZ reported that the Floridian performer appears to have died from suicide in Boca Raton based on social media posts. Police and medical examiners there haven’t responded to a request for comment.

Poorstacy, also known as Carlito Milfort, was reportedly staying in a hotel with a woman and a toddler when he was rushed to an area hospital Saturday.

No further information was reported about his cause of death.

He’d reportedly been staying in a hotel for about 10 days prior to his death.

The genre-fusing rapper dabbled in punk rock, hip-hop, heavy metal and emo and worked with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker. His single “Darkest Night” appeared on the Grammy Award nominated 2020 “Bill & Ted Face the Music” soundtrack.

Music publication Revolver said in a 2021 interview with Poorstacy that the “mad man who’s known to go so hard at his shows” spent the first 10 years of his life between Brooklyn and Queens before his family relocated to the Sunshine State for financial reasons.

“I was just really violent,” he confessed. “I would act out irrationally. I would either hurt myself for attention or I would hurt somebody else for attention.”

Poorstacy was charged with battery and neglect of a child in 2023, but that case was eventually dropped, according to Complex. The Boca Post reported he was arrested in May 2022 for missing a court date associated with various traffic issues.
