A man has been arrested in Ibiza after claiming he was carrying a bomb just moments before a Ryanair flight was due to take off.
The passenger’s hoax bomb threat forced Ibiza Airport to ground all aircraft for almost an hour this afternoon.
Some flights were even diverted to other nearby airports, including Palma in Majorca.
It’s understood that police arrested a man on board a plane bound for Milan Bergamo Airport.
No planes were able to take-off or land after the alarm was sounded shortly after 3.30pm.
Operations were suspended until around 4.30pm local time.

A spokesman for Spanish airport operator Aena said: ‘There has been a security incident on a plane at Ibiza Airport and the Civil Guard has taken charge of the situation.
‘Normal flight operations at the airport were suspended for around 45 minutes.’
He said he wasn’t in a position to say how many flights had been affected – and it’s not known how many British holidaymakers were impacted.
The incident is thought to have had knock-on effects in terms of delays for outgoing flights.
