SAN JOSE — A 36-year-old man who allegedly brandished a gun and rammed a vehicle in separate road-rage incidents in San Jose is in custody, according to authorities.
The first incident happened Feb. 27 near North Bascom Avenue and West San Carlos Street, San Jose police Officer Tanya Hernandez said in a news release Friday.
The suspect almost merged into the victim, who honked their horn, Hernandez said. In response, the suspect allegedly drove alongside the victim, forcing them into oncoming traffic, and pointed a gun at them.
Hernandez said the second incident happened March 29 at North 1st Street and East Brokaw Road. The suspect allegedly backed his vehicle into the victim’s vehicle and then hit the victim’s vehicle head-on.
He was arrested Tuesday in San Jose. A search of his home turned up several firearms, including a stolen gun, as well as large capacity magazines and body armor, Hernandez said.
Detectives booked the man into Santa Clara County jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a stolen firearm and brandishing a firearm from a vehicle.
He is being held without bail at the Elmwood Correctional Facility in Milpitas, according to jail records.
