San Jose: Three men arrested in October shooting death

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of homicide, several months after they allegedly shot and killed a man in San Jose, authorities said.

Suspects Saran Moeun, Chhorn Than and Vu Hung Le were booked into Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of homicide, according to a statement Wednesday from the San Jose Police Department.

On October 25 at 9:13 p.m., police arrived at the 1600 block of Tully Road following reports of a shooting. Officers found a male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

The suspects had fled prior to officers’ arrival and were identified during the investigation; police did not say how they settled on the trio as suspects in the killong.

Police — including members of the department’s Covert Response Unit and MERGE Unit — arrested Moeun in Oakland and Than in Livermore on March 26. In searching their residences, authorities found firearms and ammunition. On May 3, authorities arrested Le in San Jose.

Officers are still investigating the motive and circumstances of the crime, which was the city’s 29th homicide of 2023. The victim’s identity was not available Wednesday morning.
