SAN JOSE — Two men were arrested April 10 on suspicion of allegedly human trafficking of minors, the San Jose Police Department said in a news release.
Peter Supnet, a 28-year-old resident of Hayward, and Edwin Dickerson, a 27-year-old resident of San Jose, were arrested at a hotel after reportedly attempting to traffic two 16-year-old girls, authorities said.
When police officers responded to reports of a battery at a hotel on the 4100 block of Monterey Road, they found that the two men had driven the two girls there. Authorities said that one of the suspects told one of them that she had to work and make him money.
The suspect punched the girl when she attempted to leave, police said.
In their investigation, the SJPD Special Victims Human Trafficking Task Force found that the two suspects had been attempting to traffic the two girls, authorities said.
The girl suffered minor injuries and declined on-scene medical treatment, authorities said. The two survivors were provided with resources.
Meanwhile, the two suspects were arrested and booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail, authorities added.
