Around 4:30 p.m. on April 27, a man and a woman were traveling in a 2002 white Honda CRV, westbound on the 2600 block of Berryessa Road, according to a news release from police. The man, who was driving, began to make a left turn into a parking lot, and the Honda was struck by a 2021 silver Toyota Corolla eastbound on Berryessa Road.
Authorities said that the Honda’s passenger sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where her condition stabilized. However, the press release stated she died from her injuries on May 2.
The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office will release the woman’s identity after her next of kin has been officially notified.
San Jose police stated that it was the 16th fatal collision and 16th traffic death of 2024. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact Detective O’Brien of the San José Police Department’s Traffic Investigations Unit at 3527@sanjoseca.gov or 408-277-4654.
