Several, including 2 kids, injured in Brighton Park car crash

Six people, including a 7-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl, were injured in a car crash Saturday night in Brighton Park, Chicago police said.

A 32-year-old man driving a red sedan traveling north in the 3800 block of South Western Avenue near Pershing collided with a gray sedan also headed north about 10:30 p.m., according to police. The crash caused the gray sedan carrying the two children to strike a “fixed object,” police said.

The driver of the gray sedan was a 53-year-old man, and the passengers included the 7-year-old, the 17-year-old and a 51-year-old woman. A 33-year-old man was the sole passenger in the red sedan.

Both drivers were taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition. The passengers from both cars were all in good condition at Stroger, police said.

No one is in custody, and a citation was issued, but police did not say which driver was cited.
