Logan Webb finished fourth in the 2025 NL Cy Young Award voting, marking the fourth consecutive year that the Giants’ ace has received votes for the award.
The Pittsburgh Pirates’ Paul Skenes, who finished with a 1.97 ERA with 216 strikeouts over 32 starts, won the hardware for the first time in his career after winning NL Rookie of the Year in 2024. The Philadelphia Phillies’ Cristopher Sánchez finishes as the runner-up while the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Yoshinobu Yamamoto finished third.
Webb, who turns 29 next week, led the majors with 207 innings while leading the National League with a career-high 224 strikeouts, becoming the first Giant to lead the National League in both innings and strikeouts since Bill Voiselle of the 1944 New York Giants.
The right-hander told reporters earlier this month that his main goal for next season was to “get back to the playoffs” but added that he wanted to win “the big one.”
“I feel like I’ve put myself in position to be close a couple years,” said Webb, who won his first Gold Glove Award earlier this month. “I’ve played with enough guys that have won the Cy Young now. Hopefully I’ve learned something from them and I can make that jump. Obviously, it’d be awesome, but I think the main one is getting back to the postseason and doing whatever I can to do that as a player.”
