Klim Kostin was with the San Jose Sharks on April 15 when they went to Rogers Place in Edmonton and were blasted by the Oilers 9-2.
A week later, with the Sharks’ season over, Kostin was back inside the arena, watching the Oilers, his former team, play Game 1 of their first-round playoff series against the Los Angeles Kings.
Kostin even had his No. 21 Oilers jersey draped over his shoulders as he was shown on the arena’s center-hung scoreboard during the third period. Seeing that he was on camera, Kostin, per Daniel Nugent-Bowman of The Athletic, smiled and laughed as Oilers fans cheered.

It was unclear if Kostin was in Edmonton for another reason other than just to attend the game.
Kostin had a career-high 21 points in 57 games for the Oilers during the 2022-2023 regular season, and later added five points in 12 playoff games as Edmonton advanced to the second round of the playoffs.

Last July, Kostin and Kailer Yamamoto were traded by the Oilers to the Detroit Red Wings, who then signed the 6-foot-4, 232-pound winger to a two-year, $4 million contract. Kostin played 33 games for the Wings and scored just four points before he was traded to the Sharks on March 8 for defenseman Radim Simek.
Kostin had 10 points in 19 games with the Sharks.
Kostin turns 25 next month and has one year left on his contract at a cap hit of $2 million.
