Sky forward Rickea Jackson undergoes surgery for torn ACL

Sky forward Rickea Jackson underwent surgery for her torn left anterior cruciate ligament, the team announced Friday. She suffered the injury May 17 against the Lynx.

Acquired in an offseason trade with the Los Angeles Sparks, Jackson was playing the best basketball of her career before the injury. She led the Sky with 18 points per game and had improved defensively, averaging 1.8 blocks.

Jackson helped the Sky open the season 3-1, and they have struggled to replace her production. Without her, the Sky have lost nine of their last 10 games.

The Sparks selected Jackson with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 draft. She is under contract with the Sky through 2027 and is likely the franchise’s most important building block.

Despite the season-ending injury, Jackson ranked in the top 40 in the first returns of fan voting for the 2026 All-Star Game.
