Funeral services have been announced for Spencer Leak Jr., one of the leaders of the Chicago funeral titan Leak and Sons.
Leak’s public visitation will take place Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Leak and Sons Funeral Home, 7838 S. Cottage Grove Ave., according to the funeral home. A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the House of Hope, 752 E. 114th St.
Leak, one of three sons of Spencer Leak Sr., helped run the family funeral homes for more than 45 years as they grew and became a staple of the South Side’s Black community.
The family has handled the funerals of everyday Chicagoans as well as many public figures, including soul singer Sam Cooke, comedian Bernie Mac, rapper Juice WRLD and drug kingpin William Morris “Flukey” Stokes. Earlier this year, the Leak home was where the Rev. Jesse Jackson’s funeral was held.
