Sunnyvale employees take on home repairs on Rebuilding Day

Rebuilding Day

Volunteers from Lockheed Martin in Sunnyvale were among more than 400 volunteers coordinated by Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley on April 27 during National Rebuilding Day.

The volunteers performed home maintenance and repairs at 18 project sites across Santa Clara County. Rebuilding Together was set to send volunteers to four more project sites on May 3.

Last year, Rebuilding Together performed repairs on over 285 low-income homes and nonprofit facilities. On average, 15% of these repairs are completed by volunteers.

Rebuilding Together is looking for volunteers for Fall Rebuilding Day in October. Email Deanne at Deanne@rtsv.org.

Female composers highlighted

Bonds was among the first African American composers to gain recognition in the United States. Gabriela Lena Frank and Jean Ahn are composers from the Bay Area.

Lee recently relocated to the Bay Area after working a staff accompanist at Northern Kentucky University and as a teacher at the University of Cincinnati’s Communiversity Program.

Admission to the recital is free. For more information, email Lee at gracelee8128@gmail.com.
