Aguilera was booked into Santa Clara County jail on a murder charge, authorities said.
In a news release, the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety thanked the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office and the Oakland and San Leandro police departments for their assistance.
The fatal shooting was reported around 7:40 p.m. on May 29 in the 900 block of South Wolfe Road in Sunnyvale. Officers arrived to find a man outside a home suffering from gunshot wounds.
Officers provided medical aid to the victim, but he died of his injuries at the scene.
