Donald Trump’s Great American State Fair happened this weekend, with minuscule crowds, even as Dean Cain and Dr Oz tried to exaggerate crowd sizes.

A video clip shared by TMZ showed Superman actor Cain telling Dr Oz on live television: ‘There are tons of people here, it’s a huge space, and it’s just going to get more and more crowded as the week goes on.’

But a clip of the area around the two men showed just how empty Trump’s long-bragged-about event really was.

Around two dozen people were seen crowded near the stage, with a wide expanse of empty green grass stretching behind them.

Still, Cain tried to double down on his claims about massive crowds at the event.

”Everybody was like, oh, there’s nobody there; there’s tons of people around here. And it’s going to get more and more crowded,’. But that’s divisive. I was trying to be, you know, unifying towards people,’ he said.

‘Look how great this is in our nation’s Capitol.’

Trump held the Great American State Fair in the centre of Washington to celebrate America’s 250th birthday.

The event, much like some of Trump’s other escapades in recent months, found itself facing a number of issues.

The fair is billed as a patriotic showcase filled with family attractions, live entertainment and exhibits to mark the country’s 250th birthday.

One picture from Saturday showed rows of empty chairs and just two people watching a performance by musician Jason Hershey.

The fair doesn’t feature any roller coasters or carnival rides – just a 110-foot Ferris wheel and a plywood ‘Triumph Arch’.

Trump became the headliner and delivered a ‘rally to end all rallies’ alongside bands from the Marine Corps and the Army.

He claimed on Truth Social that the crowd was ‘packed to the brim’ with 45,000 attendees.

However, photographs taken at the event tell a different story, with NBC News saying attendance was ‘nowhere near’ that figure.

The Washington Post wrote earlier this week that the crowd ‘thinly covered an area about the length of the National Museum of American History, smaller than some summer outdoor movie screenings’.
