Suspect arrested in Chinatown bank robbery attempt

A quick attempt at robbing a bank in Chinatown Wednesday morning led to a quick grab of the suspect, the FBI said.

The robbery attempt happened at 10:40 a.m. at the U.S. Bank branch in the 2100 block of South China Place, according to an FBI spokesperson, who said there was a “quick attempt and quick grab.”

No physical injuries were reported, though such crimes can take a mental toll on bank staffers, the spokesperson said.

The FBI provided no information on the person in custody.
