Teen killed, man injured in shooting at Aurora party

A 19-year-old man was killed and a second man injured in a shooting at a large party in the 2,000 block of North Tower Road late Saturday, according to Aurora police.

Officers responded to a rental hall at 11:30 p.m. to reports of a shooting and found a large party of juveniles and young adults. Police found a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound inside the building, Aurora police said in a news release Monday.

The man was taken to a hospital and later died from his injuries.

A second man was also shot and was treated and released from the hospital, according to the department.

The shooting occurred when an argument between “individuals who are known to each other” escalated, according to the Aurora Police Department.

As people made their way outside of the venue after the initial gunshots, more shots were fired throughout the parking lot, Aurora police said Monday. No additional shooting victims were reported.

The man who died will be identified by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.

There are no suspects in custody, according to the department.
