Thanksgiving week weather forecast includes single-digit wind chills and possible snow, rain
Football fans may need to wear extra layers of clothing to stay warm for family Turkey Bowl games this Thanksgiving.
Temperatures in the Chicago area are forecast to dip into the 30s starting Wednesday, and wind chills could fall to a low of 6 degrees Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
The potential turn of nasty weather starts Tuesday evening with a risk of rain and snow.
Wind chills are expected to be in the single digits early on Thanksgiving Day as there are multiple chances for rain and snow this week.

By Wednesday, wind speeds could vary between 25 to 30 miles-per-hour with gusts reaching as high as 45 miles per hour, weather officials said.
There’s no precipitation forecast for Turkey Day, but blustery conditions may persist.
There’s also a threat of snow on Saturday, though it’s too early to say exactly how much will fall or when it may hit, according to the Weather Service.
The potential for snow — currently forcast at 60% — may affect the many millions of people traveling over the holiday weekend.
Nearly 82 million are projected to travel at least 50 miles from their home nationwide between Nov. 25 and Dec. 1, according to the American Automobile Association.
The travel forecast includes an additional 1.6 million travelers compared to last Thanksgiving and sets a new overall record.
“Thanksgiving travel numbers are always impressive because this holiday has become synonymous with heading out of town to spend time with loved ones,” Stacey Barber, Vice President of AAA Travel, said in a press release.
“People are willing to brave the crowds and make last-minute adjustments to their plans to make lifelong memories, whether it’s visiting extended family or meeting up with friends,” Barber added.
