Thieves shoot at man after stealing his truck

April 15

PETTY THEFT: 4 p.m. in the 1500 block of West Campbell Avenue. Two people entered a store, stole approximately $200 worth of merchandise and fled in a gray Volkswagen Tiguan.

CORPORAL INJURY: 10:15 a.m. in the 600 block of Nello Drive. During an argument, a man poked at the victim’s eye, scratching it. The victim pushed him away, but he continued to scratch at them. The victim sustained numerous superficial scratches.

PETTY THEFT: 6:30 p.m. in the 1600 block of South Bascom Avenue. A Segway electric scooter was stolen while unattended in the parking lot.

CHILD ABUSE, DUI, POSSESSION OF PARAPHERNALIA: 6:46 p.m. at Hamilton Avenue and Central Avenue. Officers responded to a report of a collision. A woman was found to be under the influence of a stimulant while driving the car. Drug paraphernalia and marijuana were also located in the vehicle within reach of a child, who was inside the vehicle during the collision.

April 16

DUI WITH PRIOR CONVICTIONS: 1:40 a.m. at Hamilton Avenue and Highway 17. A man was observed traveling at a high rate of speed. During an enforcement stop, he displayed objective symptoms of intoxication and admitted to drinking. He failed to perform field sobriety tests as instructed.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT:  4:38 p.m. in the 200 block of Echo Avenue. A woman was causing a disturbance and was found to be too intoxicated to care for herself.

ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON: in the 400 block of West Ricon Avenue. Officers found a large amount of blood on the eastern side of the building. Through surveillance it was determined that during an argument sometime after midnight, a man chased the victim and ultimately hit them multiple times with a stick.

PETTY THEFT: 9:35 p.m. in the 500 block of East Hamilton Avenue. Someone stole approximately $300 worth of items and fled out of the emergency exit without paying.

ANNOYING 911 CALLS: 6:25 p.m. in the 00 block of Cristich Lane. A man was cited for calling 911 repeatedly for non-emergencies after being admonished not to do so.

April 17

CONCEALED DIRK OR DAGGER, FALSE ID, UNDER INFLUENCE OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: 10:11 a.m. in the Los Gatos Creek Trail. A woman said someone was following her. A man was contacted and was in possession of drug paraphernalia. He displayed objective signs and symptoms of being under the influence of a stimulant and was in possession of a concealed kitchen knife. Throughout the investigation, he provided numerous names and dates of birth to officers.

VANDALISM: 9 a.m. in the 1400 block of West Campbell Avenue. Someone shattered a glass door with a rock. No entry was made into the business.

DUI, ASSAULT WITH DEADLY WEAPON: 10:25 a.m. in the 400 block of Kuehnis Drive. Residents said a driver accelerated toward them with his vehicle when they were walking up their driveway. The man was later found to be driving under the influence of alcohol.

RETAIL THEFT: 9:20 p.m. in the 500 block of East Hamilton Avenue. Three people entered a business and stole approximately $2,000 worth of perfume. All suspects fled in a gray Infiniti with no license plates.

BURGLARY: 11:17 p.m. in the 2300 block of Winchester Boulevard. Someone entered an open business and used a screwdriver to forcibly unlock and open a closed register till. They stole $398 in cash and fled the scene.

April 18

FALSE ID, POSSESSION OF UNLAWFUL PARAPHERNALIA: 1:11 p.m. in the 2200 block of Winchester Boulevard. A man was reportedly causing a disturbance and refusing to leave the premises. He repeatedly provided a false spelling of his name and date of birth. He was eventually identified and found to have multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest related to vehicle theft. He was arrested and found to be in possession of debit cards not belonging to him as well as drug paraphernalia.

CORPORAL INJURY : 7 a.m. in the 500 block of Railway Avenue. After an argument a woman pushed, scratched and punched the victim, who had a complaint of pain in her mouth and visible fresh, red scratch marks to the right side of her neck.

ORGANIZED RETAIL THEFT: 10 a.m. in the 500 block of East Hamilton Avenue. Someone entered an open business and grabbed men’s athletic wear worth about $300 prior to fleeing via an emergency exit.

BURGLARY: 7:58 p.m. at East Campbell and North Central avenues. Someone broke a rear passenger car window and stole a $7,000 purse and wallet before fleeing in a gold sedan.

April 19

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: 12:50 p.m. at East Hamilton Avenue and Highway 17. A man was stopped for a vehicle code violation. He admitted to having methamphetamine.

VANDALISM: 3 p.m. in the 300 block of Budd Avenue. Someone vandalized the men’s bathroom

April 20

VEHICLE THEFT: 1:37 a.m. in the 1100 block of El Solyo Avenue. A white 2006 Ford F350 was stolen from the victim’s driveway.

April 21

BURGLARY: 3:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Coventry Drive. Two people stole the rear license plate to a vehicle and rummaged through other vehicles in the area. They fled in a black newer-model Ford Explorer.

DUI: 2:23 a.m. at West Campbell Avenue and Victor Avenue. A man was stopped for a vehicle code violation.  He displayed objective symptoms of alcohol intoxication and failed to perform field sobriety tests as explained and demonstrated.

2:04 a.m. at Winchester Boulevard and Campbell Avenue. a man was stopped for vehicle code violations. He displayed objective symptoms of intoxication and was found to be DUI.

BATTERY: 1:27 a.m. in the 300 block of Orchard City Drive. The victim said the suspect accused him of stealing his wallet and punched him once in the face. The suspect denied striking the victim.

ORGANIZED RETAIL THEFT: 1:12 p.m. on East Hamilton Avenue. A man and a woman stole $1,207 worth of merchandise from Kohl’s.

VANDALISM: 7 a.m. on South Bascom Avenue. A woman entered a business but was denied service. She got upset, left the business and then vandalized business property outside.

BURGLARY: 3:30 a.m. on Springfield Drive. Three suspects forced entry to a locked vehicle and stole paperwork.

VANDALISM: 6:15 a.m. on Kennedy Avenue. Someone cut a fence and wandered the property, causing approximately $1,000 in damage.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: 8:41 p.m. on East Campbell Avenue. A man was contacted inside an establishment after several requests to leave. He displayed objective symptoms of intoxication and was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself and arrested.

April 22

SHOOTING AT INHABITED VEHICLE, VEHICLE THEFT: 3:30 a.m. on West Rincon Avenue. Four people took a locked 2000 GMC Sierra pickup from the parking lot, and three fled in a white newer Mercedes sedan. The fourth suspect drove the victim’s truck away. The victim pursued the thieves in his personal vehicle. The person seated in the right rear passenger seat leaned out of the window of the Mercedes and fired two shots with a 9mm pistol at the victims. Casings were located on the roadway.
