Three men were arrested Monday after allegedly kidnapping and torturing their housemate for 14 hours, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Jason Edward Carlson, 49; Sherell Cortez Allen, 48; and Luke Leonard Anaya, 41, were arrested Monday at a house in the 4700 block of South Oak Court after a hospital staff member reported a patient who claimed to have been tied up and tortured for 14 hours, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

The patient, a 45-year-old man, had injuries from being tied up, beaten, burned and whipped, according to sheriff’s officials. He also sustained a serious injury when one of the men stepped on his neck with enough pressure that he lost consciousness.
The man was able to escape when an “uninvolved person who was in the house” was able to help him get out and get to the hospital, sheriff’s officials said.
Carlson, Allen and Anaya were arrested on suspicion of first-degree attempted murder, second-degree kidnapping and first- and second-degree assault.
Investigators are also working to find a fourth suspect, the sheriff’s office said Wednesday.
Carlson is in custody on a $300,000 cash bail and set to appear in court Monday. Allen is in custody on a $150,000 cash bail and set to appear in court Monday, and Anaya is in custody on a $200,000 cash bail and set to appear in court Tuesday.
