She began sharing her journey on social media in 2021, gaining more than 140,000 followers on TikTok.

In a nine-minute video posted on Wednesday, Nix revealed that her journey has come to an end.

“Hello followers, if you’re seeing this message, I’ve passed away peacefully,” Nix said in the video.

“I am a resident doctor in internal medicine and had a beautiful life and I’m so proud of it.”

Nix expressed how much she loved her husband, her pets, and makeup in the get ready with me-themed video.

Throughout her social media journey, Nix shared that she was able to tick off items on her bucket list such as getting married, going to New York City, and watching shows on Broadway.

“I love you all, thank you so much for this amazing opportunity. I’m in happy tears because you’ve all made me find so much purpose in the end of my life.”

Nix asked her fans to send well-wishes to her husband, Michael MacIsaac, who will continue to give updates on their family through his account.

“He’s the love of my life and it was the most beautiful love,” said Nix.

“My only sadness in dying is knowing that we didn’t get to grow old together. Everything else is totally bearable because that is the only thing that really matters.”

What is sarcoma?

Sarcoma is a rare form of cancer that develops in a person’s connective tissues such as bones, muscles, fat, and nerves. Sarcoma can happen at any age and in any part of the body.

Symptoms of sarcoma include:

A lump that can be felt through the skin that may or may not be painful.
Bone pain.
A broken bone that happens out of nowhere, typically with a minor injury or even no injury at all.
Abdominal pain.
Unexplained weight loss.

It’s unclear what causes most sarcomas but, in general, cancer forms when changes happen in the DNA in cells.

These mutations can tell cells to grow and divide uncontrollably and to continue living when a normal cell would die.

The accumulating abnormal cells can then form a tumor. These cells can also spread, or metastasize, to other parts of the body.

Risk factors can include:

Genetics passed from parents to children.
Radiation therapy for cancer.
Chronic swelling, or lymphedema.
Exposure to industrial chemicals or herbicides.
Exposure to certain viruses.

Nix signed off with one final closeup to the camera, showing her finished makeup look.

“So with happy, joyful tears that are now bleeding this get-ready routine with me, I say thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you all.

“And always, here’s the finished look. Goodbye.”

Nix’s video received more than 16,600 comments from fans and newcomers who gave their condolences to her family.

“Rest easy, Dr. Kim. You were truly a light here,” wrote one person.

“Brave. Dignified. Thinking of others. Such a strong person with a wonderful outlook on life and death even though you were dealt with a bad hand,” wrote another person.

A third person wrote: “This is my first time seeing you and thank you so much for allowing me that.”

Another viewer responded: “Me too, and I’m crying as if I’ve known her a lifetime. She must have been a truly special person. Condolences and love to her family.”
