In the spirit of keeping things civil with her ex-husband, Gisele Bündchen personally let Tom Brady know that she was pregnant with another man’s baby so that he wouldn’t learn her big news from the media.
That’s according to TMZ, whose sources said that it’s not known how the retired NFL star reacted to Bündchen’s revelation that her relationship with Jiu-Jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente had advanced to the point that they’re starting a family together. The Brazilian supermodel and Brady, who divorced in 2022, share two children, 14-year-old Benjamin and 11-year-old Vivian.
It’s also not known how long Brady has known about the pregnancy. But Bündchen, 44, is reportedly five to six months along in her pregnancy and is no doubt showing, TMZ also reported.
But, perhaps in a sign that he’s not ruffled by his ex-wife’s pregnancy news, Brady shared a cryptic song about “changing” on his Instagram Story Monday — the Chicks’ 2022 track “Landslide,” Page Six reported. The song’s lyrics ask, “Can the child within my heart rise above? Can I sail through the changing ocean tides? Can I handle the seasons of my life?”
Meanwhile, Bündchen and Valente are waiting until the baby’s birth to learn its gender — so no gender reveal parties for her, TMZ also said.
“Gisele and Joaquim are happy for this new chapter in their life and they’re looking forward to creating a peaceful and loving environment for the whole family,” an insider told People.
People also reported that the couple are planning a home birth. They live in Miami, where Bündchen is said to be very happy and “thriving.”
Rumors of a romance between Bündchen and Valente first emerged in November 2022, following her October 2022 divorce from Brady. That month, the former Victoria’s Secret model and Valente were spotted together, visiting a scenic coastal province in Costa Rica with her two children.
After originally denying a romantic relationship with her trainer, Bündchen’s sources let it be known to People magazine in February 2024 that they had been dating since June 2023.
