Thousands of Magnum ice creams are being recalled amid fears they may contain shards of metal.
The Food Standard Agency (FSA) issued an urgent ‘do not eat’ alert tonight in relation to three-packs of the Magnum Classic Ice Creams.
It staes: ‘Unilever is recalling Magnum Classic Ice Cream Sticks three-packs because they may contain pieces of metal.
‘The possible presence of metal makes this product unsafe to eat.
‘Product details : Magnum Classic Ice Cream Sticks Pack size 3x100ml Batch code L3324, L3325, L3326, L3327, L3328 Best before November 2025.
‘Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling this product.
The Food Standard Agency (FSA) issued an urgent ‘do not eat’ alert tonight
‘These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.
‘If you have bought the above product do not eat it.
‘Instead, any customers with queries or concerns can contact the careline team for further guidance on 08006781031.’

A Unilever spokesperson said: ‘The safety of the people that buy and use our products is our number one priority, so Magnum has taken the voluntary precaution of recalling a limited batch of Magnum Classic Chocolate Ice Cream Sticks 3 x 100ml, as internal quality checks have shown they may contain small pieces of metal.
‘We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.’
