Urgent warning issued for corner shop crisps over allergy fears

A corner shop is recalling its large bags of cheese and onion crisps due to an undeclared allergen.
One Stop Mature Cheddar & Red Onion Hand Cooked Crisps have been recalled because the product contains milk.
This ingredient isn’t mentioned on the label, which means the crisps are a potential health hazard for people with an allergy or intolerance to milk.
The product recall covers 150g packets of the crisps with the best before dates of February 17, 18, and 23 of next year.
Customers are being advised to return the product to any One Stop branch where they will receive a full refund, with or without a receipt.

A spokesperson for One Stop said: ‘One Stop apologises to our customers for any inconvenience caused. If you require further details, please contact customer services directly.’

A Food Standards Agency spokesperson added: ‘This product contains milk making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.
‘One Stop is recalling the above product from customers and has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.
‘The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers.
‘These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.’
