Joey, the Canadian restaurant known for its globally inspired menu and buoyant customer service, announced Thursday that its highly anticipated first Northern California location will make its debut Thursday, April 24, at Westfield Valley Fair.
Joey Silicon Valley is another score for the upscale San Jose / Santa Clara mall, which boasts the first Eataly in the region and will soon be home to Asia Live, another massive dining emporium.
The two-story, 14,500-square-foot restaurant will accommodate 435 diners for indoor and alfresco dining, company officials said.
Reservations are now being accepted. Joey will open at 4 p.m. that first day, Going forward, the restaurant will serve lunch/brunch starting at 11 a.m. daily and dinner and late-night bites and sips until midnight Sunday-Thursday and 1 a.m. Friday-Saturday.
Joey, a family-owned business in the “premium casual” restaurant category, offers a menu designed by “Top Chef Canada” winner Matthew Stowe that dabbles in Japanese, Italian, Chinese, Mexican, Indian and American cuisines and more. From Jason Yamasaki, sommelier for the group, comes a full bar lineup with craft cocktails, wine and beer.
For this location, the pair created two exclusives: a Chargrilled Pork Chop and a Wood-Smoked Old-Fashioned.
The restaurant group, based in Vancouver, British Columbia, was founded in 1992. Now there are 32 locations in Canada and the United States, including an expansion the last few years into Southern California, Washington, Texas and Florida. The four SoCal Joeys are located in downtown Los Angeles, Manhattan Beach, Newport Beach and Woodland Hills.
At Valley Fair, Joey has taken over and renovated the space formerly occupied by Bamboo Sushi.
