Welcome to the Bay Area News Group (Mercury News & East Bay Times) boys Athlete of the Week poll.

For the entire academic year, we will provide a list of candidates who stood out over the previous week and allow you, the reader, to vote for the winner.

This week, we consider performances from Nov. 10-15.

Polls close at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Vote as many times as you’d like until then without using bots or any other artificial methods of voting.

Votes by email and after 5 p.m. Wednesday are not counted.

Winners are announced each Friday online and in the print edition of the Mercury News and East Bay Times sports sections.

Candidates for future Athlete of the Week polls can be nominated at highschools@bayareanewsgroup.com.

We accept nominations until 11 a.m. each Monday.

We also review stats submitted to MaxPreps by coaches/team statisticians.

On to the nominees:

Josiah Delgado, Live Oak football: The junior, filling in for injured Gage Jones, rushed for 162 yards and four touchdowns in 26 carries as fourth-seeded Live Oak defeated King City 40-16 in the opening round of the CCS Division III playoffs.

Aidan Dunosky, Willow Glen cross country: The senior won the Division III race at the CCS championships, covering the 2.95-mile Crystal Springs course in 15:28.6. His victory helped lift Willow Glen to the D-III team title. Dunosky won the prestigious Crystal Springs Invitational earlier this season, which also helped the Rams finish first as a team.

Lamar Ellis, Bishop O’Dowd football: The junior carried 19 times for 171 yards and three touchdowns to lead the third-seeded Dragons to a 24-0 victory over Mt. Diablo in the quarterfinals of the NCS Division VI playoffs.

Tucker Gavin, Archbishop Mitty water polo: The senior scored seven goals as Mitty edged Serra 12-11 in an overtime thriller for the CCS Division I championship. 

Jaden Jefferson, De La Salle football: The senior ran for 107 yards and three touchdowns in seven carries as top-seeded De La Salle routed San Ramon Valley 42-0 in the first round of the NCS Open/Division I playoffs. The reigning California 100-meter track champion finished with 189 all-purpose yards.

Teo McCrea, Campolindo football: The senior had three tackles behind the line of scrimmage, including two sacks, and finished with six tackles to help lead top-seeded Campo to a 28-26 victory over Livermore in the first round of the NCS Division II playoffs.

Michael Murphy, Branham football: The senior ran for 140 yards and a touchdown in 20 carries and caught two passes for 28 yards and a touchdown as the top-seeded Bruins advanced to the CCS Division IV semifinals with a 35-34 victory over Christopher.  

Michael Sargent, Sacred Heart Cathedral football: The senior completed 15 of 21 passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 17 yards and two TDs as SHC defeated Wilcox 34-21 in the first round of the CCS Division II playoffs.

Robert Saulny-green, Jefferson football: The senior ran for 100 yards and two touchdowns in 10 carries as the fourth-seeded Grizzlies rolled into the CCS Division V semifinals with a 40-17 victory over Pioneer.

Trevor van der Pyl, Menlo School football: The senior receiver/defensive back returned an interception 85 yards for a touchdown and caught seven passes for 119 yards in a 17-7 victory over The King’s Academy in a CCS Division II quarterfinal.

Tyler Winkles, Acalanes football: The junior threw for 334 yards and five touchdowns and ran for 71 yards and two TDs in 15 carries to lead Acalanes to a 51-21 rout at home over Marin Catholic in the first round of the NCS Open/Division I playoffs.
