Cops rushed to the scene and arrested a teenage boy on suspicion of making threats.

But the force confirmed that the arrest did not take place on school premises.

Officers have remained at the school to provide reassurance to staff and pupils.

A message sent by the school to parents and carers has been posted on social media, stating the school “is in a partial lockdown situation”.

They added that “police have arrived” with “all students safe in classrooms”.

A teacher at the school said staff and pupils were calm, reports WalesOnline.

He said: “The teaching staff are doing a fantastic job keeping the pupils calm.”

It comes two days after two teachers and one pupil needed hospital treatment after being injured at a secondary school 40 miles away in Ammanford.

Earlier today, a 13-year-old girl was charged with three counts of attempted murder and possession of a bladed article.

The horror unfolded at Amman Valley School, also known as Ysgol Dyffryn Aman, in Carmarthenshire, on Wednesday.

She appeared at Llanelli Magistrate’s Court today where she spoke only to confirm her name, date of birth and address.

The teen was remanded into youth custody to next appear at Swansea Crown Court on May 27.

A Gwent Police spokesperson said: ” We received a call to report that the secondary campus to Ebbw Fawr Learning Community had been placed in partial lockdown at around 10.20am after a teenage pupil had allegedly received threatening messages.

“Our officers are in attendance. We have arrested a teenage boy on suspicion of making threats.

“The arrest did not take place on school premises and was not in the Ebbw Vale area. Our enquiries are ongoing.”
