Westbound I-70 closed in Denver for fatal crash involving RTD bus

Westbound Interstate 70 was closed Monday in Denver after a crash involving a Regional Transportation District bus and a motorcycle killed one person, police said.

As of 7:45 a.m., westbound I-70 was closed between Quebec Street and Dahlia Street in Denver’s northeast Park Hill neighborhood, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

Denver police said an RTD bus and a motorcycle crashed on westbound I-70 near Holly Street early Monday morning. There were no passengers on the bus, and no additional injuries have been reported.

The westbound interstate is closed for the crash cleanup and investigation, police said. It’s unknown when it will reopen.

No additional details on the crash, including the cause, were immediately available Monday morning.
