Don’t worry, you can still Taste the Difference on May 6 (Picture: Rex)
The Early May bank holiday is almost here, bringing a three-day weekend.
Monday is set to be a day of rest for school pupils, (some) office workers and many more as they kick back and take the day off.
But of course, life goes on even during the weekend, and people still need to buy food and supplies.
So if your local supermarket is Sainsbury’s, you may be wondering whether their opening hours will change or remain as normal.
Here’s what you need to know before you grab your bag for life.
What time is Sainsbury’s open on May 6?
The first Monday of May is always a bank holiday, and the supermarket will be keeping most of their large supermarkets open from 8am to 8pm.
This is a middle ground between Sunday hours (10am to 4pm) and normal hours (7am to 10pm).

This is because, unlike Easter Sunday where stores over a certain size need to close due to trading laws, this bank holiday has no such laws pertaining to it.
However, they may operate under slightly different opening and closing hours so employees can start later or finish earlier to enjoy the bank holiday themselves.
Smaller Sainsbury’s Local shops will be open from 7am until 11pm throughout the bank holiday weekend as normal.
However, this may differ from location to location so shoppers are advised to check with their local branch beforehand.
You can find your nearest Sainsbury’s store online using their store checker tool by entering your postcode or sharing your location with your device.
Deliveries will also take place across the bank holiday unaffected.
