White House Denies Kristi Noem Report, “Anonymous Former Staffers Pretend To Know What POTUS Is Thinking”

Sec. Kristi Noem

The Bulwark reported Saturday on X: “BREAKING: In conversations with three former DHS officials—who served in both the Biden and Trump administrations and are still in touch with current staff—it was made clear that Trump is indeed considering moving on from Noem.”

The post linked to Adrian Carrasquillo’s article titled ‘Trump Weighs Moving On from Noem.’

White House deputy press secretary Abigail Jackson replied, “Anonymous former staffers pretend to know what POTUS is thinking and the Bulwark treats them as credible? This ‘report’ — and the Bulwark — is total FAKE NEWS! Secretary Noem is doing a great job implementing the President’s agenda and Making America Safe Again.”

Bill Kristol, the conservative co-founder of The Bulwark, replied to Jackson: “Methinks the White House deputy press secretary doth protest too much.”

After The Bulwark amplified the article, Carrasquillo wrote on X: “Late Thursday Lewandowski texted me ‘none of that is true’ when I asked about Noem on the chopping block and his presence being a frustration to administration officials. But on Friday sources told me ICE was told Noem is no longer signing memos and she is leaving ‘really soon.’”

Note: American Oversight in September sued the Department of Homeland Security for records on Corey Lewandowski’s “shadow rule” at DHS. Despite being described as DHS Secretary Kristi Noem’s “de facto chief of staff,” Lewandowski, according to American Oversight “has evaded basic transparency and oversight requirements while reportedly exercising sweeping influence over policy, contracts, and personnel decisions.”

Lewandowski is reportedly considering a run for New Hampshire governor, as the White House is said to be considering primarying Republican Governor Kelly Ayotte over her resistance to redistricting.

Lewandowski seriously considered running for the Senate in New Hampshire in 2020, before dropping out to focus on his family and Trump’s re-election campaign.
