In 24 hours, White Sox center fielder Tristan Peters has hit for the cycle and been named an American League All-Star.
Before the Sox’ game Saturday with the Athletics, Peters was added to the AL team to replace injured A’s slugger Nick Kurtz. Peters, who was not a sure bet to even make the Sox out of spring training, has 3.0 WAR (per Baseball Reference) and has stabilized the outfield.
Peters will join teammates Miguel Vargas and Munetaka Murakami at Tuesday’s game in Philadelphia.
