Snowfall is expected to begin Friday night and intensify Saturday morning, forecasters said. The rate of snowfall may peak at one inch per hour Saturday afternoon, according to the weather service.

The Weather Service urged people to reschedule travel plans to a day other than Saturday.

“Travel could be very difficult,” the Weather Service said in its storm warning.

Forecasters urged people to expect longer travel times, drive at safe speeds and keep extra distance between vehicles.
